Company History
The original European parent company was created in Altenberg, Germany in 1990 to create computer-based color illustrations of the human body for use in training medical students at one of the area’s major hospitals. Once the founders realized the huge potential for their creations in the German consumer market, they quickly became a leader in providing human anatomy and physiology software via retail distribution.
The company followed an aggressive campaign throughout the 1990s to expand its software titles for distribution throughout Europe. A large collection of products was developed in the German, Dutch, French and English languages. The company also entered the publishing arena and produced a variety of books for retail sales.
The company decided to enter the American market in 1999 by creating a US company located in Atlanta, Georgia. ContMedia, Inc. was incorporated in 2003 in the state of Georgia.
Today ContMedia, Inc. has grown to the point where it is the leading provider of retail human anatomy and physiology software products in the North America. The company offers a variety of products to meet the needs of both students and curious adults.
ContMedia, Inc. has also actively pursued entry into the American education market. Its human anatomy and physiology software products are currently being used in a variety of medically-related educational venues, including LPN training, CNA training, massage therapy training and other allied fields. The company has recently formed a relationship with one of the major medical textbook publishers to bundle its software with a variety of texts.
